    Portuguese-language site with essays on Cinema Novo of Brazil. Features director Glauber Rocha and others, with profiles, interviews and filmographies.

  • Cineteca Nacional - Mexico

  • Criticine  
    Published between 2005 and 2007, Criticine was an online publication dedicated to Southeast Asian cinema, edited by Alexis A. Tioseco.
  • DEFA Film Library  
    The DEFA Film Library, at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, is the only film archive outside of Europe specializing in the films of East Germany. The library makes films from East Germany available in the United States either for purchase or rental.
  • Digital Meme  
    As the only distributor of multilingual DVDs of early Japanese cinema, Digital Meme is an invaluable resource. In addition to making these films available to educators through DVD sales, Digital Meme also offers a film rental service.
  • Digital Snow  
    The 2002 DVD-Rom Digital Snow showcases Michael Snow's body of work and has garnered several prizes. The Daniel Langlois Foundation, with permission from Michael Snow and Anarchive, adapted the DVD-Rom for this site. It features texts, drawings, and notes by the artist; texts on the artist; 2-D and 3-D animations and simulations; audio recordings: sound works and improvised music by Michael Snow and the group CCMC; film excerpts; photo reproductions of his work; bibliographies and directories; and a searchable database.

  • Euro Screenwriters: Interviews with European Film Directors  
    A website for aspiring screenwriters hosts this section of interviews with famous directors. The interviews are culled from various resources. The film clips section has video interviews and other material, including trailers edited by Jean-Luc Godard.
  • Europa Film Treasures  
    Europa Film Treasures is an online film catalogue created by a consortium of European film archives. It offers free access, via streaming, to more than 400 films presented with extensive historical notes in five languages, and categorized by time period, country of origin, and genre.
  • European Film Academy  
    The website for the European Film Academy, which unites more than 2,000 European film professionals with the common aim of promoting European film culture, features updates on its activities (including conferences and master classes) and on the annual European Film Awards.
  • European Foundation of Joris Ivens  
    An authoritative site run by an independent foundation dedicated to spreading the work of Danish filmmaker Joris Ivens. Features a filmography and bibliography, and users can also search for items in the collection (located in the foundation's physical archive in Denmark).

    Film and Sound Online is a set of collections of film, video, and sound material, available for download. Accessible to students and researchers at British universities.
  • Film Archives Online  
    Search the moving image collections of five European film archives: the Deutsche Filminstitut, the British Film Institute, the Cineteca di Bologna, the DEFA-Foundation, and the Narodni Filmovy Archiv Prague (NFA). Many entries feature detailed synopses from the sponsoring institutions.

  • Fondazione Fellini  
    This site devoted to the Italian director features a filmography and bibliography. Each entry in the filmography includes a summary, still image, cast and crew list, and a list of selected quotations from critics. In Italian.
