    Scottish Screen is the official website of Scotland's national screen agency, designed to develop "all aspects of screen culture and industry across the country."
  • Scottish Screen Archives  
    While its primary purpose is to provide an online catalog of films in the Scottish Screen Archives collection, this website also offers over a thousand clips extracted from its holdings. In addition to these clips, each listing includes a detailed description. Users may browse the films and television programs in the archives' holdings by place, subject, biography, or decade.
  • Shakespeare in Film and Television Database  
    This site, run by the British Universities Film and Video Council, is a database of all film and video adaptations of Shakespeare's work. Each entry features a very short synopsis and production information. Includes a "references and reviews" section, which features bibliographic references to the film listed.
  • Siunattu Teknologia: The Kaurismaki Web Site  
    An independently run English-language website about the film directors Aki and Mika Kaurismaki. The detailed filmography, which is organized by date, includes complete cast and crew lists, soundtrack information, and lengthy synopses. The "Books" section is a great bibliography mostly Finnish books on the filmmakers.

  • Soviet Estonia: Film Clips  
    Clips from the 1950s Soviet newsreel archive. The main website gives more information about Estonian film and information on their national archive.
  • Studies in French Cinema   Peer Reviewed
    Published three times a year, Studies in French Cinema is the journal of the Association for Studies in French Cinema. Although the journal is not Web-based, users can search the tables of contents from previous issues and read abstracts of articles.

  • World's First Television Recordings  
    A website devoted to the pre-history of television in Great Britain, featuring early experiments in television by John Logie Baird in 1926. Archived are some of the earliest known television recordings, including Baird's experiments with his Phonovision system and early BBC test recordings from the 1930s.
