A Day with Oliver Stone
March 13, 2011 at
Museum of the Moving Image
, New York
Oliver Stone has consistently been one of the most ambitious film directors, taking on grand historical themes while creating absorbing, dramatically powerful films that are epic in scope and deeply human in psychological complexity. This is a rare opportunity to see two of his finest films on the big screen: his empathetic, wide-ranging Nixon, with Anthony Hopkins heading an astonishing ensemble cast; and Alexander: Revisited, his bold reworking of his 2004 film. Stone will introduce Alexander: Revisited, and the screening will be followed a conversation with Stone and Matthew Zoller Seitz.
Featured Works:
Nixon (1995); Alexander: Revisited (2007)
